Enel Cuore – Words that matter

In its first 10 years of activities, Enel Cuore onlus promoted 540 social projects in Italy and abroad, allocating about 50 million euros to support education, sport and socialization amongchildren, the elderly and people with disabilities.
The "Words that matter" campaign was the first of a series of projects that Enel Cuore has promoted for its tenth anniversary.

The idea was to make the third sector and public opinion aware of the necessity to rethink the communication in the field of solidarity, starting from "The words that matter": Enel Cuore published a book, in collaboration with Feltrinelli and of the related Scuola Holden, that collects 100 words explored and interpreted by personalities from the worlds of culture, university, journalism, sport and music. A useful tool for associations and for anyone who works in the third sector;
The project was carried out by engaging regular people: on www.leparolechesonoimportanti.it everyone could propose their own words which were then selected and used in the book.
I was the account and project manager and I took care of the whole website development process and of the related digital communication campaign :
- requirements analysis;
- design;
- wireframing
- development;
- testing;
- vulnerability assessment;
- go live.
The site's structure was particularly interesting: on landing, users could see the words already entered with an animation calculated in real time that randomly picked the words in the database. A complex effect achieved by combining HTML5, CSS3 and AJAX

The animation suggested the link between the concept of solidarity and the projects supported by Enel Cuore in Italy.
In the introduction the Italy's shape was gradually filled with colored dots corresponding to the almost 500 projects projects supported by Enel Cuore. The same dots came alive to shape the words suggested by users.
